The Canadian Personal Chef Association, now in it’s eighth year, has helped over 400 personal chefs from coast to coast, start and run their own businesses. Numerous media articles, TV and radio shows continue to feature this growing industry and CPCA members.

CPCA personal chefs are involved in a variety of activities beyond cooking for regular clients, such as teaching cooking courses, participating in trade shows, working with community organizations and mentoring new personal chefs.

January 8 2008 - Food Safety Training Dates - NFSTP courses run by the CPCA are available to the public and also contain information relevant to personal chefs.  Contact Marg Spence-Krewen for more information at 416-209-1729.  Upcoming dates are Sunday, February 24th and Sunday, May 4th.

December 4 2007 - The Edmonton Chapter of the USPC/CPCA announces a personal chef retreat in May, 2008 in beautiful Canmore Alberta.  Contact Gwen - Gwen at homefordinner dot ca - or Suzanne -  tasteslikemore at shaw dot ca - for information.  Or check into the member forum at www.pchef.ca for details.

September 7 2007 - Food Safety Certification - CPCA is running the national food safety (NFSTP) course on the weekend of November 3 & 4, 2007. The course is open to anyone who needs a food safety certificate.  Pre-study is highly recommended, so we suggest you register by October 19th.  Email Instructor Marg Spence-Krewen at mskrewen at rogers dot com or call 416-209-1729.

July 1 2007 - CPCA launches the 100 Mile Meal Event - a celebration of local eating.  During the month of September, personal chefs across Canada and in the USA will be featuring menus using ingredients from within 100 miles.  Check the project website and blog at www.onehundredmilemeals.net

July 1 2005 - Watch out for imitations!  CPCA is the registered business name of the Canadian Personal Chef Association - established in 1999 to bring the personal chef industry to Canada, train new personal chefs, and maintain the standards and code of ethics required of its members.  The CPCA is a member-run organization associated with the USPCA - the world's leading organization of personal chef training and standards.
